The Danna K. Johnston Foundation today announced that it has received a van secured by King County Councilmember Reagan Dunn through King County’s annual Retired Van Donation Program.

Since 1995, the County Council has been donating retired vans from Metro’s Vanpool program to local nonprofit organizations to provide transportation for the disabled, low-income, young adults, and senior citizens. Since then, the King County Council has distributed more than 260 retired vans to various non-profit organizations. After eight years in the King County Fleet Division, the vans are retired and prepared for donation.

The donated van will be used primarily for the purposes of transporting students that participate in the Foundations signature program – “Successful Youth”.
